Technology to prevent and combat Covid-19 in hospitals and medical facilities

13/08/2020

Solutions and technologies that can help during the epidemic period as well as the "new normal" period have been specifically introduced and connected to the application through the thematic Tektalk series 3 “Technology for Covid-19 prevention and control in hospitals and medical facilities”.

Theme 3 “Technology for Covid-19 prevention and control in hospitals and facilities.” Department of Health" organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Informatics Association (HCA) in collaboration with the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Science and Technology on October 7, 2021 in an online form, within the framework of the "TekTalk Series" series of events: Technology and life”.

The contents presented and discussed in topic 3 include: Solutions for remote patient health monitoring and hospital access management (Mrs. Ho Thi Hoang Yen, Head of Business Development Department - TMA Innovation); Safety in the prevention of Covid epidemic in hospitals and medical facilities with Cloud Camera AI (Mr. Tran Du Hoa Binh, IoT Solution Manager - VNG Cloud); SureMD - A platform to provide knowledge and a health consulting environment for Covid-19 prevention and control (Mr. Ha Than, General Director - Lac Viet Informatics Joint Stock Company); Covidmaps map to support Covid-19 disease prevention (Mr. Le Yen Thanh, Founder & General Director - Phenikaa Maas Technology Joint Stock Company).

TMA Innovation

Mrs. Ho Thi Hoang Yen introduces technology solutions of TMA Innovation.

Mrs. Ho Thi Hoang Yen said that although the epidemic has improved, the situation in hospitals is still very difficult. The demand of hospitals is very high in terms of access management, patient classification, limiting contact between patients and medical staff to limit infection; tools to support patient health monitoring in order to react and handle promptly, reducing the load on medical staff. Grasping this need, TMA Innovation has launched mCare and T-Check solutions. mCare is a wearable device that helps monitor patient health remotely, patients use wearable devices (watches) to monitor blood oxygen levels, heart rate, blood pressure, health indicators as well as send SOS signal and connect with remote doctor. T-Check is an automated patient screening and access management solution at medical facilities. This device supports automatic body temperature measurement, warning not to wear a mask, face recognition, medical declaration, reading QR Code, green card, yellow card, etc. T-Check when deployed will have many advantages as compact equipment, easy to move and install; much lower cost than Kiosk; The data is saved and processed at an internal server managed by the medical facility.

Currently, the mCare solution is being piloted at 2 hospitals for Covid-19 patients, while supporting F0 patients at home. The benefits that this device brings are quite obvious, that is, it allows monitoring a large number of patients remotely at the same time, helping to detect complications early for timely handling before serious changes; limiting contact between patients and medical staff, minimizing the risk of infection; support to treat F0 patients at home more effectively. Therefore, TMA wishes to cooperate with hospitals to deploy it for patients with Covid-19 and other diseases.

About camera application in medical facilities, Mr. Tran Du Hoa Binh offered a solution to apply Cloud Camera AI to enhance security and safety in medical facilities. Accordingly, the smart camera integration features in medical facilities are attendance (face recognition, attendance attendance); check body temperature; limit the number of people in the work area; face mask compliance identification; danger zone warning; Limit the number of people in public areas. These features are aimed at maintaining measures to reduce the risk of Covid infection in the medical facility environment. In the long term, when Covid is over, these features will still be useful for medical facilities to use every day with the aim of increasing safety for patients and medical staff.

The advantage of a security camera system in the cloud is to provide camera-as-a-service; centralized management of camera system; integrates AI features such as motion detection, intrusion into restricted areas, people counting, number plate recognition, making ordinary cameras of businesses smarter; Cost savings; data safety and security. Some prominent applications of security cameras in medical facilities are monitoring the behavior of intrusion or crossing the fence at medical isolation areas; monitor activities at isolation/treatment sites; Count the number of turns/people entering and leaving the Covid testing room and temperature control.

With the SureMD.vn system, Mr. Ha Than said, this is a system that provides information, knowledge, and questions and answers about drugs, health, and diseases. The system applies artificial intelligence technology and machine learning, convenient and easy to use, helping users look up and ask and answer information about drugs, health, find doctors for advice, support, and online examination. This is very necessary in the context of the pandemic and also after the Covid-19 epidemic, helping people to actively monitor and take care of their personal health.

Covidmaps map has reached the Top 10 creative and technological solutions of the HIS-COVID 2021 contest organized by the Department of Science and Technology of Ho Chi Minh City. Covidmaps uses map technology to build a system that provides information about the epidemic situation to people in an intuitive, timely and clear way. The solution has been implemented since 2020 in Ho Chi Minh City. Danang. The highlight is the use of "Make in Vietnam" mapping technology to save deployment and operation costs; master the technology of deploying separate Covidmaps systems on the DataCenter infrastructure of each province to ensure data security; The solution is highly customizable, helping provinces and cities to actively add more layers of data such as vaccinations, essential stores…

With bMap map technology, provinces and cities can actively modify road names and routes as desired and control all data, helping provinces and cities have more base map platforms to deploy. future solutions. In addition, Covidmaps has a high scalability, so provinces and cities can expand other features such as providing information about buses selling vegetables, essential sales maps, traffic green channels, injection maps. strains…

Currently, Covidmaps has been deployed to 18 provinces in Vietnam with more than 120,000 locations uploaded to the system. Each province has a separate Covidmaps system running on the DataCenter of each province, easily customizing the map feature according to actual use needs. The total number of visits to Covidmaps in 18 provinces and cities is estimated at over 5 million, saving more than 10 billion VND for provinces in terms of operating and mapping costs.

Exchange, discuss between experts, speakers, solution providers.

The speakers, experts, and suppliers said that, in addition to the desire to deploy applications for units, organizations and businesses, the technology solutions in topic 3 can connect widely. Application to southern provinces and cities during the Covid-19 epidemic situation. At the same time, solution providers can connect and cooperate with each other to create stronger, more integrated, more versatile technology solutions with more technical features to help users. use.

According to Mr. Vu Anh Tuan (Secretary of HCA), topic 3 is an important in-depth session on solutions to prevent Covid in health facilities and businesses, especially in adapting to the period " the new normal”, when businesses start operating again. From October 1, units and industries start a new normal life, so it is necessary to bring technology solutions to businesses and units to support them to adapt flexibly and safely in different situations. new image, as well as being ready to face the next possible wave of epidemics.

About the role of connection and coordination of state agencies, Ms. Phan Thi Quy Truc (Deputy Head of Technology Management and Technology Market Department - Department of Science and Technology of Ho Chi Minh City) said, the HIS-COVID 2021 program to seek solutions to support the group of state management agencies in disease prevention and support for people's welfare; looking for specific complete solutions ready to be transferred to medical facilities in Covid treatment. Up to now, the program has had the Top 10 best solutions and continues to implement a deeper connection step to introduce these solutions to those who have application needs. The Department also conducts specific activities to connect with the city's policies for innovative solutions related to Covid such as the investment connection program (investment funds, using the state budget, etc.). through the SpeedUp program); connect, form and develop an ecosystem for the health sector, build an online ecosystem/digital transformation in health to connect and share existing resources in society, promote the formation of ideas, medical solutions; forming a long-term program of cooperation between the private sector and the state to create products with competitive advantages for Ho Chi Minh City related to health.
